I truly enjoy the process of woodworking. From planing down a rough board to applying oil to a finished piece, it is something that I handle in a diligent way. My attention to detail is shown throughout my work; it is recognized by my audience that I put thought and care into my pieces throughout my processes. It comes naturally to me to craft something simple, modern, and functional. More than anything else, I love when my original ideas come to life. When I watch a completed, two-dimensional sketch from my book slowly turn into a three-dimensional woodwork, it is simply rewarding. It was something that existed only in my thoughts, then translated onto paper and executed precisely. I have a personal connection to each piece; my work is a part of me.

I appreciate exploring wood species that are new to me, to see what it has to offer during the process, and in the result. One of the most beautiful parts of working with this medium is applying wood finish when it is complete, as it reveals some of its natural splendor. Wood has an array of beauty throughout the different species. Whether it is the shade, color, figure of the wood, or grain complexity, my wood choice is strongly considered before I produce a piece.
